Sub: Enhancement of the purchase price of Kendu Leaf and Wages of Kendu Leaf Seasonal staff.

Sir,
I am directed to communicate the following Government decisions to you for immediate implementation.

1. The purchase price of Kendu Leaf is increased from 23 paise to 25 paise for a kerry of 20 green Kendu Leaves. Similarly, the purchase price of Kendu Leaf in phal areas is increased from 46 paise to 50 paise for a kerry of 40 Green Kendu Leaves. The purchase price of Grower’s leaf is increased from Rs.1350/-to Rs.1450/- per quintal. This is made effective from the 2007 Kendu Leaf crop year. All payment of arrear Claims of the Kendu Leaf pluckers on account of the enhanced price should be done through Postal Money Order.
2. The wages of Kendu Leaf seasonal staff such as Head Checker, Circle Checker, Checker, Binding Checker, Munsi and Chaparasi is increased by 25% over the present wage rate. This enhance wage rate of these seasonal staff would come into effect with effect from 01.05.2007.
3. The Kendu Leaf pluckers will be paid Rs.27/- each in lieu of a pair of chapels.

You are requested to issue immediate instructions to all field units for implementation of the above Government orders and copy of instruction may please be communicated to the Government for reference.
