Honey is in use in India since ancient Vedic times. Honey is the most wonderful gift of God and Mother Nature to mankind. It is the most complete natural food. The best-known advantage of honey lies in its pre-digested form, hence even infant can get benefit from it. Honey provides instantaneous replenishment of energy losses. Honey collection is known in India since time immemorial and used for religious and medicinal purposes.

Our honey (Banaja forest honey) is gathered by indigenous communities/ tribals living mainly in the periphery of Similipal biosphere reserve in the state of Orissa. Honey plays an important role in the economy (Sustenance and cash income) and culture of these communities. Care is taken to collect the purest form of honey from freshly harvested beehives with the finest flavour, texture and aroma right down to the last drop.


Every measure has been taken to process the produce scientifically without disturbing the natural properties balance. This honey is collected by Rock bees (Apis dorsata) and Little bees (Apis dorsata) and little bees (Apis Floria). It can be used as a tasteful and nourishing food apart from its inherent medicinal uses.
