Amla/Aonla (Emblica Officinallis)

It is also called Emblica Myrobolans. Its fruit is one of the three constituents of "Trifala". Trifala is used as a laxative. Fruits are largely used for medicinal and herbal shampoo making purpose. Aonla is also edible. Some household consumption occurs to make pickles etc. Aonla marketing is done in two forms, one while it was Green and another is in dried form. Every year about 150 truckloads of Aonla goes outside Orissa. It is mostly available in Koraput and Sundergarh districts of Orissa.
